Thoughts and Musings for Hope Connection December 2014

Suffering equals hope

Suffering = perseverance = character = hope
Hope does not disappoint.

Mind and heart struggle.
Body and soul contend.
Face and future collide.
Questions come, "When?"

Stay strong.
Continue faithful.
Persevere again.
Remember better days.
Embrace the future.

There is an Holy Spirit guiding into persevering character. He walks patiently alongside each step, each mistake, each victory, and each point of growth.
Simple? Yes.
Easy? Hmmm.
Reliable? Always.

Romans 5:3-5 NIV

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Take the High Road

Obedience is not a hard thing. It is impossible.
Our human nature will prevail under the easiest of circumstances.
Until we are equipped by the Holy Spirit. He adds a spirit of self-control.
How often we add to the Lord’s directions and get ourselves confused. He gives a simple plan and we complicate the instructions with our desires and agenda. Fear distorts simplicity.
Just do the simple part that He asks. That is enough. It will bring full benefit.

Genesis 3:2-3 CEB

The woman said to the snake, "We may eat the fruit of the garden’s trees but not the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden. God said, ‘Don’t eat from it, and don’t touch it, or you will die.’"

Focus on the 1000

For every 1 off blip there are 1000 blessings. Handle the blip and live in the 1000.
Groveling in prayer I looked up into my Father’s eyes. His mirror back revealed a confident son standing before and encouraging Lord and King. Rattled, my prayer changed from complaining to praise and thanksgiving. In His eyes I am healed, whole, confident, bold, able, secure and victorious.
Since that moment, I work to find the 1000 longings fulfilled and not spend so much time on the blips of hope that are delayed.
Less heart sick and more tree of life.

Proverbs 13:12 NIV
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
