Greater Works Ahead in the Path

Our Mission

Like every group in the full body of Christ, Hope Connection has a mission.  Our mission is to be instruments of God in connection of individuals and families to Him and to each other through life changing personal outreach and faith building engagement, encouragement and education.  As we live the greater works of Jesus in our community empowered by and submitted to the Holy Spirit of God, the heart of all will be turned to the Father as His heart has turned toward them.  Men, women, and children of all ages, cultural heritage and faith backgrounds find a warm, friendly, accepting, and challenging atmosphere conducive to positive change to grow in wisdom and stature in Jesus.  Our heart is that the works of God, the Father, exampled through Jesus living in us under the extraordinary influence of the Holy Spirit, are more evident in our community than the mistakes of man and the normalcy of evil.  May the Creator of All Living Things, The Lord Almighty be glorified in our life.   Connect to Christ.  Grow in Christ.  Keep in Christ.

God’s Work of Grace

In the last year God has accomplished through us:

Established a campus base in two cities in two states.

Established effective and life changing outreach in both communities.

Developed a core team of committed soldiers, each using individual talent and gift.

Opened membership.

Gained good reputation and cooperation in the community as agents of change.

Kept all expenses paid and incurred no debt.

Looking Forward

In the next year our heart of prayer is that we see Him through us:

Establish increasing personal outreach in our members.

Found a school of ministry.

Found empowered community transformation classes, programs and mentoring.

Establish clear discipleship paths that include fellowship, friendship, family, and faith with education, engagement, encouragement.

Create training and empowering campuses.

Open bi-lingual services on both campuses.

Found a music and fine arts program of worship and praise.

Create men, women, couples, children, and youth programs that bring smiles and friendship making disciples.

Sustain and develop all that we have started.

Launch an additional campus.

Develop play and family areas on both campuses fit for the communities.

Launch the most beautiful helps ministry in the state.

Joy in the Journey

I look at you this morning and rejoice.  What an awesome God we serve.   It is not our history that will reach our community and transform it.  Skate to where the puck is going.  Seize this day. Opportunities multiply as they are seized. Begin every morning with a sure confidence and a forward focus that great is He that is in us than he that is in the world.  It is what we do today that changes tomorrow.  Seed, cultivate, harvest – every day.  Let us cast our bread upon the waters and cast our bread upon the waters and cast our bread upon the waters that in many days it will return and return and return.

Praise-Prayer-Power

Tonight we have a celebration of praise, prayer, and power at 6pm.  I implore each of you to make time to be here.  Prayer is not an option.  It is the open route to success, the expression of the anointing of God, and the essential to hearing His voice.

Extraordinary Influence

Last week, we opened the subject of the anointing of God.  How does He turn bitterness into blessing, sorrow into strength, pain into promotion, and hell into heaven?  It is not by our individual talent and ability.  It is not by our corporate strength.  It is by His intentional activity and touch of the Holy Spirit.

Turn Stale Into Fresh

Psalm 84:6 Who passing through the valley of Baca (weeping, staleness) make it a well; the rain also fills the pools (springs, live sources of refreshment)

Extraordinary Influence (Anointing) Destroys The Yoke

Is 10:27  It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

Don’t Wait Until They Die.

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick (weak or weeping)? Let him call for the elders (leaders and instructors) of the church, and let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord?

His Touch Is For All In The Church/Kingdom

1 John 2:20 By you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.

A Faithful Testimony

However sincere we may be, we cannot, on our own, worship God freely and fully as He deserves.

However zealous we may be, we cannot , on our own witness for Christ as effectively as He desires.

However zealous we may be, we cannot on our own, do warfare for Christ as penetratingly as He directs.  Jack Hayford

What Hinders?

Our journey took us through the book and history of Judges and the book and history of John and the early church to see what holds back His extraordinary influence, His touch, His anointing.

  1. We do not seek His instruction.
  2. We embed in our world and it in us.
  3. We do not understand our commission.

Today, we take another step along the path to our collusion with the anointing of God.  He selects and empowers and grants extraordinary influence to both individuals in a local congregation and local congregations as a whole.

There are Greater Works To Be Done.

The Holy Spirit makes it happen.

Lk 4:14  And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame (rumors) of him through all the region round about.

Mt 4:23  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Jesus took the time to be empowered of the Holy Spirit before He launched into day to day ministry.  How much more so should we be sensitive to the timing, commission, and empowerment of the Holy Spirit in what we do.  He did not move out until He was empowered of the Holy Spirit.
